As these rulers were basically hated by the colonists the pirates were somewhat admired. Colorful characters only added to the stories. Crazed men of little morals much less sanity that would do most anything to strike fear into there adversaries. Bright silks and linens hand sewn into the most basic of garments and accessorized with fine gems and trinkets of conquest.
